I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country. I’m looking to interview real estate agents, brokers, lenders, property attorneys, rental property professionals, and other housing experts for the following article, with a June 13 deadline:

WHY GOOD GRAMMAR MATTERS IN A HOME FOR SALE LISTING. Recent research by Grammarly and Redfin found that grammar mistakes and typos in home listings damage a home’s sale price: Perfectly written listings (i.e., listings with perfect spelling and grammar and no abbreviations) had a higher sale-to-list price ratio, were more likely to sell above list, and sold faster than homes with flags; these homes sold for 10% more money, sold three days faster, and were 5% more likely to sell within 30 days than all listings included in the study. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to for this story. Please e-mail me back your interest, availability and phone number. My deadline is noon central time, Friday, June 13.

1. Why does good grammar, spelling, syntax and punctuation matter when creating and posting a home listing on the MLS or elsewhere, in your opinion?

2. What does a listing with poor grammar/typos say about a home for sale and the parties representing it? In other words, what perception does a listing with poor grammar create?

3. In this age of texting and Twitter where typos are common and good grammar is overlooked in favor of quick, truncated and symbol-laden messages, do you believe that good grammar in a home listing is currently overrated or will eventually not be valued as much by home buyers and their agents?

4. How can a home seller ensure that their listing is well written and grammatically correct? What should they be doing?

5. Where else does good grammar matter besides a home listing? What about other literature created about a home (sale sheets, classifieds, Tweets, etc.)?

6. Any other thoughts, tips, suggestions on this topic that I failed to ask about?

7. What is your full name, title, company, and location where you are based?
