I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country. I’m looking to interview real estate agents, brokers, lenders, property attorneys, rental property professionals, and other housing experts for the following article, with a June 13 deadline:
HOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF UNCLE SAM’S NEW PROGRAM TO EASE MORTGAGE LENDING. Steps to ease access to mortgage credit, including cutting the cost of FHA loans, were announced last month, including a HAWK pilot program that will allow borrowers who undergo housing counseling to reduce the steep fees paid for FHA mortgage insurance. (Visit tinyurl.com/p766e9f for more details.) This story would examine what's involved in the new rules/programs, where to find an approved program, and how to capitalize on its benefits. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to for this story. Please e-mail me back your interest, availability and phone number. My deadline is noon central time, Friday, June 13.
1. What are the highlights and advantages of the new HAWK (Homeowners Armed With Knowledge) program, and who is eligible to participate?2. What is involved when you participate in the program? How long does the counseling last, and what does it cover?3. How/where can a person find/enroll in this program?4. What needs to be done after completing the program? How does one get the lower fees enacted?5. Is this a good, worthy program, in your opinion? Why/why not?6. Any other thoughts, tips, suggestions on this topic that I failed to ask about?7. What is your full name, title, company, and location where you are based?
