I'm working on a new story for The Costco Connection (the consumer magazine for members of Costco stores) on the following topic:
CYBER SUCTION POWER: Robot vacuum cleaners have been around for many years, and the technology and features have improved. This article would guide readers on the benefits, amenities, limitations and costs of these devices and how to shop for one. For this story, I’m looking to interview homeowners who have purchased a robotic vacuum cleaner as well as industry experts who are familiar with these devices and their pros and cons. I can either conduct a phone or email interview (with the latter, you can type up responses to my questions below and email them to me). My deadline to complete all interviews is Tuesday, Aug. 12 by noon central time.
QUESTIONS:
1. (FOR HOMEOWNERS): When and why did you purchase a robotic vacuum cleaner? What brand/model? What do you use it for? Are you satisfied with this purchase, or do you have regrets? What advice would you give others who are considering buying a robotic vacuum cleaner?
2. (FOR INDUSTRY EXPERTS): How have robotic vacuum cleaners and the related technology improved in recent years? What new innovations/bells & whistles are now included in today’s models (e.g., better infrared sensors, ability to return to its docking station, etc.)?

6. Can robotic vacuum cleaners replace a traditional vacuum cleaner, or are they meant to be convenient supplements for certain types of rooms/cleaning goals?
