I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country. I’m looking to interview real estate experts for the following article, with a deadline of Dec. 18, 2014. STORY: TECH TOOLS FOR A SMARTER HOME SEARCH: a new Discover Home Loans survey (visit tinyurl.com/msntv4t for details) shows that 76% of homebuyers feel using technology during the home buying process made them smarter, while 69% said it made them more confident in the process. Other key data findings from the survey include: 89% of homebuyers use some form of technology to help them with the home buying process; 47% of all homebuyers report using technology helped them save money; 92% of homebuyers say technology helped them save time. This story would examine the results of this study and include insights from experts as to what the findings say about homebuyers today. I’m looking to interview real estate agents, lenders, brokers, and other housing experts for this article. Please e-mail me back your interest, availability and phone number. My deadline is noon central time, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
QUESTIONS:
1. What do you think are the key findings of this survey (at tinyurl.com/msntv4t) and why?2. How is technology (including smartphone apps, website tools, etc.) helping homebuyers today during the home buying process? Can you give an example or two?3. Is there a danger of homebuyers relying too heavily on technology at the expense of some other alternative? Can you give an example?4. How will technology continue to improve and make the homebuying process simpler/easier, in your opinion—any predictions here?5. Any other thoughts, tips, suggestions on this topic that I failed to ask about?6. What is your full name, title, company, and location where you are based?
