I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country. I’m looking to interview mortgage professionals and other housing experts for the following article:
GET TO KNOW YOUR MORTGAGE TEAM. This article will explore all of the players involved in helping you secure and finalize your home mortgage loan and explain their roles. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to. I can either conduct a phone or email interview (with the latter, please email me back full-sentence written responses that I can use as quotes). My deadline is noon central time, Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
QUESTIONS:
1. Why is it important for borrowers to know and understand the different players involved with/on their mortgage team?
2. Who are the players on the mortgage team, and what are the roles/responsibilities of each? (e.g., loan coordinator, loan processor, closing coordinator, loan officer, underwriter, etc.). Why are all these players necessary?
3. Which of these players will the borrower deal directly with and/or speak to at any time before the loan closing? Which will he/she possibly not have contact with, and why?
4. How do these players/roles differ depending on what source the borrower chooses: a bank/lender vs. a mortgage broker?
5. Has the roster of players on the mortgage team grown or shrunk over the years and why?
6. Any other thoughts, tips or suggestions on this topic?
7. What is your full name, title, company, city/state location, and email address?
