Event Description: Fighting for Autism is hosting a 5k Walk/Run
and 10k Bike event on World Autism Awareness Day (Saturday,
April 2, 2016) at 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters, Missouri.

We will also feature a variety of vendors, games and prizes,
raffles and a special feature "Run with Robbie 10k Run" where
participants can run the 10k path alongside Fighting for Autism
Ambassador and Professional Boxer, Robbie "PeaShooter" Cannon.
The person with the closest time to Robbie will win a gift
basket from Raising Canes Chicken Fingers. Participants will
also have the chance to meet and get photos and autographs with
Fighting for Autism Fighter Ambassadors and Promotion Affiliates
at the event, including UFC and Bellator fighters. ----
Proceeds raised at this event are dedicated to improving two
specific Fighting for Autism Programs, detailed below, in
addition to our US Autism Awareness campaigns: - Fighting for
Autism Cameras in Classrooms Initiative: We are pushing very
heavily for mandated video/audio camera use inside all special
education classroom environments. There are numerous benefits to
having Cameras in Classrooms, including security, educational
process review, to serve as a true record of incident, and to be
a deterrent to mistreatment and abuse by both school staff and
peers (anti-bullying). - Fighting for Autism Police
Registration & First Responder Autism Education Program: This
program creates a link between police agencies and the Autism
community by getting children on the spectrum (and with other
special needs) registered and into a police database for
identification purposes and to create a more open line of
communication between police and our community. Parents can have
their children registered into the police database with a photo,
fingerprints, identification details, and diagnostic/capability
details. Additionally, this program includes a multi-hour Autism
education seminar where our Autism Specialists and Therapists
spend time educating officers on Autism and best practices when
having an encounter with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
