Hello. My name is Erik Martin and I am a freelance writer for The Content Wrangler (thecontentwrangler.com; visit tinyurl.com/tcwejm for an example of the articles I write for them). I’m seeking to interview wearable technology experts and industry insiders for the following story topic I’m prepared to write:

FUNCTIONAL, FASHIONABLE AND FABULOUS WEARABLES: WHERE WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY IS HEADED AND WHEN. This article will examine the current state of wearable technology, how it’s expanding into the mainstream, where it’s headed (trends), current notable innovations/gadgets, and more. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to for this story. I can either do a phone interview or an email interview (whereby you send me written answers to my questions below that I can use as quotes in my story, which is often easier; written responses should be thorough and detailed, please). My deadline is noon
central, Friday, May 13. Please e-mail me back your interest and phone availability or your indication that you plan to email me typed up answers to these questions:

QUESTIONS:
1. How has wearable technology progressed/advanced in recent months/years? What new/improved innovations have been introduced that are noteworthy and why?
2. What is the state of the wearable tech industry right now and how has it grown? Any numbers/data you can share (please cite your sources)?
3. Are wearables now firmly entrenched in the mainstream, or are they still on the periphery/fringe in most ways? Why?
4. What are the current and near-term wearables trends you can identify? What are some hot wearable categories/product areas to take note of? What types of items/clothing are we going to see turned into “wearables” that perhaps we never imagined before (e.g., Bluetooth enabled socks? Wearable band aids? Etc.)
5. What are some notable wearable products and manufacturers that are deserving of interest/respect? Why? What are the hot wearable categories (e.g., smartwatches, fitness bands, etc.)?
6. What has to happen/what will it take for more consumers to adopt wearable products/technology? What are your timeline predictions: when will wearables really “hit big”?
7. How/when/why will wearables shake up the fashion and clothing industries? Can you provide examples of the wearables growth potential in fashion/clothing? What are some issues that will arise with fashion/clothing wearables (e.g., extra care needed in washing wearable clothing items, etc.)?
8. What are some major challenges and opportunities you can identify when it comes to wearables that manufacturers/marketers need to address/capitalize on?
9. Are wearables just a fad that will die out, or is this a lasting movement that will only continue to grow/expand? Why?
10. How can content providers/electronic publishers capitalize on wearables in any way? Can you provide any real world or hypothetical examples?
11. Any other thoughts or ideas you want to offer on this topic?
12. Do you have any visuals you can provide that we can publish with this story (e.g., photos, graphs, charts, tables, screenshots, slides, illustrations, etc.) that you have the rights to? If so, can you email them to me by the same story deadline and include any descriptive captions for each?
13. What is your full name, title, company, and city/state location where you are based?
