Hello. My name is Erik Martin and I am a reporter for HomeStyle, a nationally syndicated home improvement/design section published weekly in newspapers across the country (you can view HomeStyle article examples at omaha.com/inspiredhome).
I’m looking to interview home improvement/remodeling experts, interior designers/decorators, and homeowners for the following article:OUTDOOR A/C ASAP: Why it's worth considering a portable air-conditioning cooling unit for your home's exterior – whether it's the patio, garden, pool, garage or other area. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to. I can either conduct a phone or email interview (with the latter, please email me back full-sentence written responses that I can use as quotes). My deadline is noon central time, Monday, July 11.
QUESTIONS:1. (THIS QUESTION FOR HOMEOWNERS ONLY) Why did you purchase a portable air conditioning unit for your home’s exterior (e.g., patio, garden, pool, garage or other area)? How often and where do you use it? Why was this purchase worthwhile? What tips would you provide to other homeowners on this topic? What is your full name, and city/state location?2. (NEXT QUESTIONS ARE FOR THE EXPERTS) Why is purchasing an outdoor portable A/C cooling unit worth the investment?3. Who is this product ideal for (provide a scenario example, a target consumer, and areas of the country) and why?4. Where is this product best placed outdoors, in your opinion (e.g., patio, garden, pool, garage, etc.)? Please cite real world or hypothetical examples of how/when/why this product can best be used.5. How has the technology/features/benefits of portable outdoor A/C units improved over the years? How long has this type of product been on the market?6. Do you know of any manufacturers and retailers who make and sell these products that you can name?7. Any other thoughts, tips or suggestions on this topic? 8. What is your full name, title, company, city/state location, and email address?
