I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country. I’m looking to interview real estate agents, brokers, lenders, property attorneys, builders, and other housing experts for the following article, with an August 13 deadline:
THE RIGHT TIME FOR A PRICE REDUCTION. This article would extrapolate on when is the right time to cut a home-for-sale's price, and what to cut it to, after being listed on the MLS for a certain period and after consulting carefully with your agent. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to for this story. Please e-mail me back your interest, availability and phone number. My deadline is noon central time, Wednesday, Aug. 13.
1.
When is the right time you’d recommend for a price reduction on a home for sale, and why? After what time period and under what circumstances?
2.
What advice would you recommend when it comes to how much a home should be discounted? Is there a certain % rule of thumb you follow?
3.
How often are price reductions needed during a typical home selling process? Why?
4.
Given the current real estate sales climate, should sellers expect to make one or more price cuts nowadays? Why?
5.
What should sellers and their agents carefully consider before and after making a price cut?
6.
Are there any risks in making a price cut (e.g., it may appear that the seller is desperate to unload, which may decrease his/her leverage)?
7.
Any other thoughts, tips, suggestions on this topic that I failed to ask about?
8.
What is your full name, title, company, and location where you are based?
