Hello. My name is Erik Martin and I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country (see past examples at tinyurl.com/rewejm). I’m looking to interview mortgage/lending professionals, realtors/agents, and other housing experts for the following article: SEVEN SUREFIRE WAYS SELLERS CAN ATTRACT SUMMER BUYERS. Listing and selling a home in the summertime can be smart, if you plan for the season accordingly. This article would include timely tips like creating great curb appeal with a well-manicured/landscaped lawn and property, but also tips to boost your chances during home showings, like cranking up the AC, using natural light to showcase your home, bringing in fresh flowers carefully positioned in your home, offering cold bottles of water in brightly decorated ice bins, and arranging patio furniture in a warm and inviting manner. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to. I can either conduct a phone or email interview (with the latter, please email me back full-sentence written responses that I can use as quotes). My deadline is noon central time, Tuesday, June 7.
QUESTIONS:1. Why and how can listing and selling a home in the summertime be smart, if you plan for the season accordingly? What is it about the summertime/warm weather that is conducive to selling a home faster/for more money?2. What timely tips (please list at least 3) can you offer to better show off a home in the summer and create great exterior/curb appeal, and boost your chances during home showings (e.g., have well-manicured/landscaped lawn and property, arranging patio furniture in a warm and inviting manner)?3. What tips (list at least 3) can you offer to boost your chances during home showings (e.g., cranking up the AC, using natural light to showcase your home, bringing in fresh flowers carefully positioned in your home, offering cold bottles of water in brightly decorated ice bins)?4. What are some “don’ts” that sellers should avoid while trying to show/sell a home during the summer?5. Any other thoughts, tips or suggestions on this topic? 6. What is your full name, title, company, city/state location, and email address?
