Hello. My name is Erik Martin and I am a reporter for a nationally syndicated real estate section published weekly in newspapers across the country (see current examples at gmnews.com/?s=%22by+erik+j.+martin%22). I’m looking to interview realtors/agents, investors, lenders, and other housing experts for the following article:

FIRST-TIME BUYERS ARE PURCHASING IN GREATER NUMBERS – HERE'S WHY. According to a new National Association of Realtors report (details at: http://www.realtor.org/news-releases/2016/10/first-time-buyers-single-women-gain-traction-in-nar-s-2016-buyer-and-seller-survey ), after slipping for three straight years, the share of sales to first-time home buyers ticked up to 35 percent, which is the highest since 2013 (38 percent) and a revival from the near 30-year low of 32 percent in 2015. This story will examine the key findings of this study, why sales to first-time purchasers are on the rise, and provide tips to help first-time buyers claim the home of their dreams. Below is a list of questions I’m seeking answers to. I can either conduct a phone or email interview (with the latter, please email me back full-sentence written responses that I can use as quotes). My deadline is noon central, Tuesday, November 15.

QUESTIONS:
1. How do you interpret the findings of the aforementioned National Association of Realtors report? What did you find interesting or unexpected about the results?
2. Why are sales to first-time buyers on the rise so dramatically? To what factors do you attribute this increase?
3. What is your prediction: will first-time buyer sales continue to increase in the coming months/years? Why/why not?
4. Will mortgage interest rates continue to remain favorably affordable for first-time buyers in the near- and long-term future?
5. What tips can you provide to help first-time buyers qualify for an affordable mortgage, save up for the necessary down payment, and claim the home of their dreams? What else should they be doing?
6. Any other thoughts, tips or suggestions on this topic?

7. What is your full name, title, company, city/state location, and email address?
