Research firm Gartner recently released a study entitled “Digital Channel Survey 2016: Social Marketers Expand Tactics for Results” (details at http://www.reuters.com/article/us-advertising-socialmedia-idUSKCN12326L) indicating that 80% of marketers surveyed are expected to increase spending on paid advertising on social networks in the next 12 months because of the decreased reach of gratis social marketing. This article will examine the report's findings and why and how marketers will need to adapt and revamp toward paid social media marketing/advertising in the coming months/years, including tips/suggestions as to how to best do so.
