Missy Johnston is the Owner and President of Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters. Northrop and Johnson is a full service yacht brokerage firm that has been in business for over 50 years. Missy Johnston has been a Yacht Charter Broker with Northrop and Johnson for over 20 years offering luxury crewed yacht charter in all worldwide yacht charter locations. Missy has been instrumental in the industry in establishing charter rules and regulations worldwide, establishing new industry charter contracts, and working to expand this relatively new industry in a professional manner. Missy is the ex President and 15 year Board Member of the American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA), and member of the Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association (MYBA). Past industry work has seen Missy as liaison between the AYCA, MYBA, and other industry trade organizations including the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA, the Hellenic Yacht Brokers Association (HYBA) and the Greek Yacht Owners Association (GYOA). Missy was also involved with the U.S. legislative process and the Maritime Committee in the House of Representatives in the wording and passing of the Passenger Vessel Safety Act of 1995 with broad reaching impact on the U.S. yacht charter industry. As a Yacht Charter Broker, Missy has traveled extensively to all industry worldwide charter shows, given speeches and conducted seminars on industry topics of concern, and has inspected many yachts offered for charter and met the crews. Missy also travels worldwide to the various cruising locations for first hand experience cruising in these locations.
