I am a writer/author/editor with 35 years' experience and background in research. I was widowed at 19 and left with an infant son whom I raised alone until he was 3, when I remarried. My husband and I have been married over 35 years and currently reside in Florida. We were both raised in Minnesota, where we met in Minneapolis, and we lived in eight states, just for the adventure of it. In four of these states I worked as a columnist/features writer/editor for various newspapers. My educational history is spotty, for instead of studying writing, I left college and wrote instead. I also studied art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, and Pima Communitty College in Tucson Arizona. I love to draw and paint and have a passion for both drama and photography.
My first book, "Simple Faith" is autobiographical and teaches what I have learned about faith and includes answers to prayers of faith, including some instantaneous answers that can only be seen as miracles.
My second book, "Lazy Legs" is a fun Dr. Seuss-type rhyming book for the early reader set that takes a hard look at morbid obesity and what we can do about it. It comes with a free e|Live download code so pre-readers can listen to the story and turn the pages as they look at the picture. As someone who formerly struggled with weight, I know how it feels to hide from the world and look for comfort in food.
My third book, "Eloise of Westhaven: Not Just a Kid" is volume 1 of a multi-volume set written to young adults and adults as well. This historical novel, set in fictitious Westhaven,Kansas, is full of adventure, wit, a little romance and takes the reader back to simpler times when the west was first settled. (Volume 2 is almost finished--let the reader not despair!)
My research about the shaping of our country makes me an authority on early American history. My illnesses throughout my life make me an authority not only on the challenges of weight, but on natural remedies, which are used in the "Eloise of Westhaven" series. My constant search for God and His healing power in my former life of illness throughout my childhood, adolescence and adulthood have driven me to search the Word of God for answers to why I have suffered, what I could do to overcome, and what God's Word says about these things. These teachings are also reflected in the "Eloise" novels as well.
