Ye-Vetta Wilson-Worst is a natural leader. She was elected in her first leadership position as the CEO of her Junior Achievement company at the age of 14 years old. Ye-Vetta served as the CEO of 2 Junior Achievement companies which liquidated profitably unlike a majority of the other Junior Achievement companies during that time. She continued her leadership roles as the Captain of the Modern Dance Team and, as a senior, Captain of BTW High School Cheerleading Squad which had over 30 participants. She was awarded a Dale Carnegie Scholarship for her high school leadership achievements.
While working and attending Virginia Commonwealth University, Ye-Vetta held the leadership positions of Captain of JV Cheerleading Squad and Executive Officer of the Student Government Association. She was elected into the SGA with the highest vote record in Virginia Commonwealth University’s previous 10 year history. Ye-Vetta was also selected 1 out of 500 applicants as a Public Relation’s Intern at the Attorney General’s Office in which she was selected as the Intern Leader with the Attorney General’s CADRE Program. While in Student Government, Ye-Vetta noticed that there was a need to address human relation issues which occurred within the student body. She initiated a change to add a Human Relations Committee to the structure of the Student Government Association. The Human Relations Committee was formed and added to the Student Government Association. This committee addition was the first major change to the SGA structure since inception. Based upon the programs initiated by the Human Relations Committee, the committee received the Virginia Council of Higher Education Committee Commendation and was modeled as a committee for other University Student Government Associations to adopt. Ye-Vetta was awarded the Student Government Association’s Outstanding Service Award upon graduation.
Ye-Vetta has continued to display outstanding leadership qualities throughout her career. She was selected as USAA’s Employee Opinion Survey Team Leader in which she represented the 900 employees to the Regional Vice-President in monthly meetings. She was charged with identifying concerns of the employees and coming up with solutions to improve the morale and attrition rate of the Mid-Atlantic Regional workforce. She initiated a communications program which was nationally recognized and the President of USAA recommended other regions throughout the country to adopt. Ye-Vetta then entered a career in Pharmaceutical / Biotech Sales. Throughout her 9 year Pharmaceutical/Biotech career, she has been an asset to the organizations in which she has worked. Ye-Vetta has won over 24 Sales Achievement Awards. Frequently, she was selected to mentor, field train and/or interview new pharmaceutical candidates entering Pfizer. In her continued endeavor to learn while at Amgen, Ye-Vetta was approved by Amgen’s Executive Committee to pursue her Doctorate of Management degree in Organizational Leadership with full corporate support. Only 15% of the employees who apply for this status get accepted. Ye-Vetta was approved unanimously.
In 2004, Ye-Vetta was selected as 1 of 3 Sales Representatives world-wide to ride with Kevin Sharer, CEO of Amgen. When she asked Kevin how she was selected, he advised her that one of his executive team members told him that he needed to come down to take a look at her. A few days later, Kevin sent Ye-Vetta an e-mail stating it was his most successful field day that he had had up to that time. That next month, Kevin was on the cover of Forbes Magazine for Company of the Year and on the cover of Industry Week as CEO of the Year.
Based upon Ye-Vetta’s ability to create and cultivate million dollar markets, she decided to start her own company, J’esprit Corporation, by which she would launch high quality products focusing initially on women. During Ye-Vetta’s three years as Women’s Ministry Leader at her church, she realized that she has a heart to help women. Many working women want to take care of themselves but often lack the time. Thus, Ye-Vetta led the creation of a vitamin and ceramide enriched moisturizer called Oui Jesprit Skin Conditioner that is quickly applied in the shower and has a long lasting softening effect, over 24 hours in most cases. She continues to receive an outpouring of responses regarding the outstanding results from her customers.
Ye-Vetta also realized that she loved working in and with businesses. Therefore, she became a certified Executive business coach and started another company, The Business Club, Inc., in her pursuit to help people bring their dream businesses into a reality. Ye-Vetta and her company has been featured in multiple news channel outlets in addition to Forbes, Black Enterprise magazine, CBS MarketWatch, Hoover’s Online, The Seattle Times, Health Magazine, Star Magazine, Global Cosmetic Industry, Private Clubs magazine and The Daily Fashion Weekly.
In addition, Ye-Vetta is an Amazon Besting Selling author and has published 2 books with a business focus: "Cut the Cancer from Your Company" and "Burnout: What is Burnout and How to Bounce Back". Her books are based upon Ye-Vetta’s numerous career, coaching and consulting experiences with individuals and businesses throughout the years.
Because Ye-Vetta believes that it is important to help cultivate students in the aspects of business ownership, she taught part-time as an Adjunct Professor in the Business Management department at Norfolk State University for 3 year. She taught Organizational Behavior and Managing Growing Ventures.
Ye-Vetta’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations and a Master of Public Administration degree. She has completed her coursework for her Doctorate of Business Administration degree in Management with a 4.0 GPA. She is currently completing her dissertation portion of her studies.
