About the designer:
Thomas studied fine arts at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. as well as the Art Student League and the National Academy of Design in New York City. Thomas’ love for furniture and the decorative arts led him to pursue a career in fine arts auctions with C. G. Sloan in Washington, after which he joined the firm of Butterfield and Butterfield in San Francisco as a furniture specialist and appraiser. After his time as a private dealer, he co-created the Quatrain furniture collection. The collection was a huge success and drew the attention of his next employer, Donghia, which hired him as their Director of Design Development for furniture. Thomas is the founder and designer for his signature collection, Otium, which is produced in Murano, Italy and features neo classical chandeliers, glass lamps, vases and candlesticks. He is now further expanding his creativity with the introduction of Thomas Fuchs Creative.
