Born and raised in Austin, TX into a family of musicians and writers, DeAnna Joy Shields aka Mz DeeVa is no stranger to the world of Entertainment. Yet, instead of striving to live the role of glitz and glamour that was her first dream, her life took a different path.

At the age of 18 she became a mother to two daughters. She went through and managed to leave a marriage filled with verbal and physical abuse from her high school sweetheart. Taking several years to regain a sense of self, she attempted another serious relationship, only to find while she was 6 months pregnant with her son, that his father was married.
Closing out any future thoughts of a relationship again, and now a single mother of 3, she went back to college to pursue an Administrative Specialist degree.
A few months prior to graduation is when she met her soldier, SGT Jonathan B. Shields, whom she went on to marry 3 years later, only to lose him to battle of Fallujah, Iraq while he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom soon after the wedding ceremony. She shares her life and experiences in her recently released memoir 'Great Sex Is Not Love and Never Will Be!'

Currently residing in Killeen/Ft Hood, Texas, Mrs. Shields is a Web Talk Radio Host (iLast Radio) self published author, writer, student, counselor, sister, friend, volunteer worker and so much more.
In her own words

" I have been writing since elementary years and blogging for 5 years. These days I share anything from my relationship and parenting advice, to discussing career and religion choices. I have experienced many things in life from escaping an abusive relationship, mentally and physically, raising 3 children, the 2004 loss of my husband during the mass loss of soldiers in the November Battle of Fallujah, OIF of the Iraq war, as well as experienced parental forced abortion and so much more. I hold an Administrative Specialist Certification, have studied Social Work Specialization and am currently studying for my BAS in Guidance Counseling, hoping to visit New York and gain a Masters in Psychology. I feel I am indeed qualified to speak on a wide range of issues in our world today. Most important to me in life is always maintaining a fear of God, keeping a strong sense of family first, supporting our Military troops and families, including those of our fallen service members, traveling often and meeting new and interesting people world wide."
