The Early Years
As a victim of severe bullying during her childhood and teens, imprisonment by her husband, surviving a stalker, and outsmarting a hired gun, Treyce also endured decades of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. As a result of these powerful life lessons, she knows what it is like to be depressed, having survived her seventh and final suicide attempt at the age of 17. In 1981, she was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome which was hidden from her until her mother’s death in 2007.
As an only child, adopted by wealthy parents who used money to try and buy her love, Treyce grew up with a huge block regarding success and wealth even though money was abundant. Her entrepreneurial parents offered no regulations, and as a teenager, she was free to run the streets at will. After several years of gambling, her mother “lost” their 1800’s historical hotel and apartment complex, and a house that Treyce's grandpa had built in 1947.
After Treyce's father died, she observed her mother’s humiliation when she was forced to seek the help of the welfare system. Although Treyce realized that she did not want to follow in her mother’s footsteps, it was not enough to fully motivate her. Not until she was forced to live on pork ‘n beans, and scrape pennies for months while raising two kids on her own, did Treyce start attending college full time. While living through bouts of financial drought, and other derailments, she continued to strive toward self-empowerment. Little did she know that she would eventually be helping others do the same.
Through these difficult, painful, and traumatic experiences, she created what is now her famous Handwriting Formation Therapy (HFT) program. This program not only helped her forgive herself and others, it also removed the blocks of resentment, anger, guilt, shame, and regret that were holding her back personally and professionally.
During her long journey of unconditional self-love and acceptance, she created other powerful programs using a combination of enthusiasm, humor, street-smarts, and passion. Through these supportive programs, clients experience a deeper sense of direction and purpose through their own self-exploration.
The Middle Years
In 1987, Treyce became the first person in world history to create and copyright an evidence-based program like that of HFT. In fact this program is so powerful that, since 2006 and ongoing, HFT has been solely responsible for a near 100% stop in juvenile crime recidivism rates. For over 26 years, this program has helped kids, teens, and adults with issues such as addictions, grief, anger, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, some special needs, and other mental illnesses.
Also in 1987, after 12 years of private study, Treyce inherited a forensic handwriting analysis agency when her teacher passed away of cancer. She quickly became known as an international forensic handwriting expert who specialized in personality profiles, violence assessments, and the progression of suicide. She then spent the next 26 years teaching handwriting analysis skills to law enforcement, behavioral health, and human resources. In addition, she worked on newsworthy cases such as Lisa McMahon, Nikki LaDue January, Smiley Face Serial Killer case, and the disappearances of Baby Gabriel, and Isabel Celis. She has provided case commentaries to media outlets such as ABC and TruTV, and has helped the writers of Criminal Minds. During this intermittent success, she continued to experience a life full of derailments. Yet, she remained focused on internal healing and self-understanding.
After studying forensic psychology for her Bachelor’s degree at Kaplan University, and Master’s degree at the University of the Rockies, she acquired her doctorate in Holistic Psychology. As a result, she worked full time in the traditional mental health system for a total of 18 years. With her ever-growing entrepreneurial spirit, she knew she was being spiritually led to help others. Despite continued struggles, she refused to give up.
Today
While most of this occurred decades ago, using what she learned, she later manifested and married the man of her dreams. She was later invited to hear a spiritual leader at a local venue and, after attending, her life was transformed. She had acquired a new mindset around money and success, and it was so empowering that she gave her forensic away just as it was given to her. This allowed her to fully focus on updating and relaunching the HFT program. As a result, Written Escape Clinics International is now home of many certified and licensed therapists. She has also signed reality show contracts for HFT.
Using all of her knowledge, skills, and experience, Treyce helps clients see the light in even their darkest moments. With her quirky personality and zany “bottom line” approach, she teaches audience members how to trust their inner guidance. Her sometimes controversial style energizes, motivates, and inspires others by providing a unique sense of empowerment.
Treyce is the author of 20 books including her most recent Loving My Inner Mean Girl (her life story) which was chosen the “Best Memoir of 2013”. Because of her experiences, she has become a powerful, compassionate, sought-after keynote and inspirational speaker. While she continues to lead unique escapes (retreats), she also offers various highly-acclaimed, private transformational packages.
If you ask what her purpose is, you will likely hear: "To inspire and empower others to learn, grow, and transform into the best them that they can be!" or perhaps, “To help others accept, love, & nurture their inner mean child to remove blocks caused by traumatic experiences so they can work together and accomplish anything!”
