Diana Veseth-Nelson, a Military Spouse and advocate, is a non-profit professional with experience in executive management, program and fundraising development. In pairing with a background in marketing to the Military community for Morale Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR), she has recruited, retained and developed over 200 volunteers as a Volunteer Coordinator for one of New Jersey’s premiere historic sites, Allaire Village, Inc. As the Assistant Executive Director, Diana planned and executed over 50 fundraising events annually to include a state wide wine festival, weekly educational programming and an award winning film collaboration. Currently, and in addition to her work with Veterans, Diana is active as the Director of Volunteers and Public Relations at the Loudoun Free Clinic in Leesburg, VA. Diana manages over 250 medical providers, nurses and administrative professionals in providing healthcare to over 1,300 residents of Loudoun County. She is charged with creating a targeted professional development plan for volunteers, and initiating, staffing and overseeing the execution of health programs and initiatives and coordinating all of the marketing and public relations for the clinic. Under her leadership, the clinic’s volunteer hours reached unprecedented numbers in the clinic’s 10 year history. Diana’s first passion is Veteran and spousal support for those battling the Invisible Wounds of war. A rising advocate of Veterans and their families, she has been involved in several speaking engagements and panel discussions as an expert on the topic. These include participation in several PTSD focused documentaries, participation in panels for the Mental Health Alliance, Theatre of War, Military Pathways and an expert witness at a 2012 congressional hearing. As Executive Director of Invisible Wound, Diana’s focus is to work on healing, reconnection and relief for those suffering in silence.
