Lori Piotrowski holds a Master's degree in Romance Languages from Ohio State University, but has had a varied career, beginning in publishing, moving into corporate communications, architectural photography, public relations, and then into teaching Spanish and Portuguese. Her historical novels about the American Revolution, Revolutionary Heart, and the sequel, Revolutionary Spirit, were well received and this fall, she will publish Revolutionary Spark, the third installment of the Molly Weston Chronicles. In 2018, she branched into publishing children’s books: Riglee Celebrates Thanksgiving, Riglee Rolls an Easter Egg, and Caesar and Cleo Find the Purrrrfect Christmas Tree.

Lori has been politically active in the Republican Party since Fall 2008. After serving in various positions in local clubs, in October 2015, Lori was elected president of the Nevada Federation of Republican Women. During her two-year tenure, she sat on the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) Board of Directors and served on its Campaign Committee. In May 2017, Lori was elected to be a member of the nominating committee to select the next slate of officers for the National Federation.

In January 2017, the president of the National Federation of Republican Women named Lori to chair the NFRW Education & Literacy Committee. Under her guidance, the committee designed a literacy program to reach out to underprivileged children, designed a mascot (Riglee Raccoon Super Reader) to encourage young readers, and wrote and produced two children’s books featuring Riglee.
