I am the owner of Vegan Mia Organics, a USDA Certified Organic and PETA Certified Cruelty-Free and Vegan skincare brand. I am a bi-racial woman (African-American and Hungarian-American), a Certified Professional Aromatherapist, and an attorney with a focus on health law and policy. I have over a decade of experience in the skincare industry and a deep passion for self-care and the health and wellness of the planet and all those who inhabit it.
Vegan Mia Organics is my second skincare company. I started my first skincare line in 1998 and sold it in 2006. I went on to attend Georgetown Law to focus on health law and policy. Not long after graduating from law school, my husband and I moved to Germany where our son was born. We returned to the U.S. in 2014. When my son was only 18 months old he developed severe eczema. Drawing on my previous experience in the skincare industry and my voracious love of research, I committed myself to finding gentler and safer eczema remedies for my son.
Not long into my journey, I knew I needed to start another skincare company. I set out to create a brand that would not just call itself “clean beauty,” but would truly exemplify that ethos to its core. Hence, Vegan Mia Organics was born. I continue to do some pro bono legal work in the surrounding Washington D.C. area where I live with my family, but creating all-natural, socially responsible skincare is my true passion, and sharing its benefits with the world is my goal!
