With more than 30 years’ experience in the communications sector, Ruth Coggin, a Chartered Marketer [CM (SA)], has expertise in a number of sectors including writing, media relations, training and editing.
Her strong communication skills (both external and internal) have earned her the much sought after international Gold Quill Award from IABC for her work with Nedcor in communicating the Code of Banking Practices. Her proficiency in her areas of work has earned her the reputation of being “a secret weapon” to her clients - an epithet earned through admiration for her work and her commitment to always make the client sparkle. She recently completed a course in digital marketing, thereby updating her considerable experience with the latest trends in marketing and communication.
Ruth’s hobbies include playing the pipe organ, having earned an honours degree in music from the University of the Witwatersrand, and she recently took up the flute. She is also an experienced choir leader and is the founder and conductor of the Johannesburg Queer Chorus. She is also official repetiteur and assistant conductor of the Johannesburg Bach Choir.
