ABOUT MARISCELA ALVAREZ

Born in the highlands of Per� in a small town called Concepci�n and raised in the capital city of Lima, Mariscela Alvarez�s self-discovery journey began in her homeland. She began her self-healing quest by reconnecting with nature and the spiritual aspect of her integrated being � mind, body and soul.

Her personal journey led her to embrace unique healing tools that she now uses to assist others. As a hypnotherapist, Shamanic healing practitioner and Tai Chi/Chi Kung teacher, she inspires and helps others to activate their inner wisdom and essential state of well-being.

Alvarez was raised in a culture with conforming behaviors and limited beliefs, but also was surrounded by traditions and ancient healing techniques. Her grandmother was the most powerful influence in her life. She was a �curandera� (healer) with a deep understanding of the use of herbs, rituals and prayers that helped her feel at peace. She also spoke Quechua, the language of the ancient Peruvian civilization.

Alvarez moved to the United States twenty years ago, and now resides in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Meadow Vista, Calif. She considers this great country her second home � where she realized that her soulful heritage derived from Peru has always been present in her life.

Alvarez teaches that we are an integrated system in which our minds interact and affect our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. True healing is holistic since it considers all the parts of the whole and deals with the source of the imbalance, rather than relieving just the symptoms.

Alvarez offers her clients a diverse range of healing tools and techniques, which allow her to tailor sessions to her clients� specific, unique needs. Alvarez offers in-person and remote sessions in both English and Spanish. Her CDs and DVDs will be soon be available in Spanish.
