Sol Erdman is the founder and president of the Center for Collaborative Democracy (CCD). He became an expert on resolving political conflict at midlife, by doing cutting-edge research with leading thinkers at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Among them was Lawrence Susskind, director of the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program, who had had spent his professional life helping warring interest groups resolve long-standing controversies. In his work with Susskind, Erdman discovered what it would take to coax elected officials to resolve their differences on highly contentious issues.
To fully develop this new approach, Erdman founded CCD. He has presented its ground-breaking methods to the Council of State Governments, members of Congress, the American Political Science Association, and leading pundits. Erdman
