BACA's founder, Dr. Lee Tannenbaum, is an addiction specialist certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. As one of a small number of physicians nationwide with this certification, he is uniquely qualified to treat all forms of addictive disorders using state of the art theories and medications. Dr. Tannenbaum also serves as a medical and addictions consultant at the Phoenix Recovery Center in Edgewood, Maryland. Dr. Tannenbaum graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1988 and was chief resident at Forbes Family Practice Residency in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He is also board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and was a family practitioner and proprietor of a private group practice in Bel Air, Maryland for 14 years before deciding to focus solely on addiction medicine. Dr. Tannenbaum is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the Harford County Medical Society, and MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society.
