MAD COLOUR is a new high-end accessories line that boasts unique clutches made of natural bamboo, each hand painted by abstract artist Alonys in Lab77. Not only a handbag or simply an accessory, each MAD COLOUR clutch is an original piece of art.
"MAD COLOUR purses are for the woman that dares to be different and stand out in a crowd....she doesn't mind people asking 'where did you get that?'" explains artist and designer Alonys. MAD COLOUR bags come in 5 distinctive collector personalities: Fashionista, In the City, In the Moment, Natural Essence and Subtly Irresistible - each one hand painted and original.
About Alonys Art
Alonys is CEO, artist and visionary behind the MAD COLOUR; a line of couture purses that surpasses fashion accessories and enters the world of collectable and unique works of art. An entrepreneur and inspired soul, Alonys is a self taught artist originally from the beautiful city of San Diego, CA, now residing and working out of the Inland Empire.
To regain sanity in an insane world, she began to express her thoughts and life in the form of abstract art. Simply beginning on supermarket paper bags, her work blossomed when it reached canvas of all sizes. She developed her style with acrylic paint, and began to add anything she could find around her to create original mixed media pieces. Surrounded by the entertainment industry, a major element in her art is the use of vinyl records, CD's, and clothing. She provokes thought by infusing words, vibrant colors and textures in her work.
Alonys has collaborated with clothing companies, designed custom pieces for recording artists and DJ's, created album covers, and has exhibited her work at some of San Diego and Los Angeles' premier restaurants and bars. In February of 2003, Alonys was featured as an "Artist on the Move" in Skinnie Entertainment Magazine and throughout 2004 and 2005 she continued to exhibit in San Diego and Los Angeles, and participated in the "Postcards from the Edge Benefit" in New York City.
Alonys displayed 17 original works in a collection specifically created for Saks Fifth Avenue's Spring Collection Week. The exhibit, "Paper Sacks to Saks Fifth Avenue," ran for 10 months in the Women's Contemporary Department.
This engagement was followed by an all female show "Another Herspective," where she was joined by international established and emerging artists.
Other notable showings include a One Year Anniversary celebration for Crewest Gallery in Downtown, Los Angeles where she showed her custom painting "Ain't No Crew Like The West" in the group show "Cinco," as well as the highly renowned Diane Merrick Clothing Salon in Beverly Hills.
