Ski For a Cause, For Applause, Just Because
Hello , I’m sharing with you the inspiring and very noteworthy story of Teddy B. You may be wondering, “How does this relate to us”? Please keep reading. The short life and story of Teddy Bedrossian: Teddy was an adorable, blond-haired, blue-eyed medically fragile special needs boy. When he was born, doctors predicted that he would only live to be 4 months old. Defying all odds, he lived to be 18 years old until he died from kidney disease. He was strong and courageous throughout his medical journey. His presence brought an indescribable richness to thousands of people. He even helped a school-mate with Autism come out of his “shell.” Unable to talk or hear, he did this through acts of kindness and a contagious smile. For most of his life, Teddy attended Elwyn, a unique, non-profit organization that provides special education to all ages with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Meet Ned Bedrossian, MD, a local and prominent Philadelphia physician, surgeon, parent, philanthropist, avid-skier, and most importantly, Teddy’s father. The Ski-A-Thon was born seven years ago out of the compassion of Dr. Bedrossian, in honor and memory of his son. Elwyn cared for his son, and Dr. B continues to reciprocate with this annual event. Years have passed and Elwyn has outgrown their elementary school. Funds are now being raised to build a new state of the art facility that will broaden our services, increase our student population and provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment. Just as the needs of our students evolve and increase, so does the need for funds. This year it is greater than ever as more and more children are in need of Elwyn’s services. We are looking to reach a bigger audience and increase our media and digital presence and are hoping you will help. We are asking if you will please help us spread the word about this special event and include it: on your calendar of events, email blasts to members, social media, website. Given the compelling human interest story, I believe this story and the event on 3.12.17 is of great value to your readers. Following is a general press release, a short video and a link to the webpage. Thank you so very much for your consideration. Any help or promotion of this event you can offer is most valued. We truly thank you for your support. I look forward to speaking with you. Have a great day and a wonderful week.
