WEIGHT LOSS AND BUSINESS – THE SUCCESS CONNECTION

Do you ever just stop, in the midst of your busy day, and ask yourself the question: why am I do this anyway?! Do you constantly think about the ‘why’ of your business – is it uppermost in your mind. Or, in the midst of chaos (mentally and otherwise), have you lost track of why you do what you do?

As I listened to Bob Green on an interview recently, he was talking about what it takes to succeed at weight loss, in order to live your best life. I couldn’t help but relate his comments to what it takes to succeed in business as well. Let’s examine.

Question #1: What are you overweight/broke/not making any money?

When it comes to success in business, I would venture to say some of those reasons, when it comes to (lack of success in) business, are as follows:

Too busy doing ‘busy work’
Working ‘in’ your business and not ‘on’ your business
Negative self-talk/fear
Procrastination/lack of good time/energy management skills
You may NOT BELIEVE you can REALLY do it
You’re not playing big enough
You’re hanging around with mediocre entrepreneurs (who are also ‘stuck’)
You don’t know who your ideal client is/who needs you most
You have no idea how/where to market your products and services
Lots of good ideas – not enough focused action
Inconsistency with marketing efforts
No systems and processes in place – so you’re doing it ‘all’ yourself
You have no support/fear and lack of patience when it comes to getting help
You’re getting in your own way
And, when it comes to weight loss – many of the reasons listed here can easily be transferred to that situation too!
You haven’t invested in yourself and in your business.
Question #2: Why do you want to lose weight/make money/make a difference? Temporarily, or long term, in either situation – don’t you want a better life for yourself? For your family?

Write out all the reasons WHY ……you want to lose weight, succeed in business and make tons of money. Then sit back and read each item, line by line, slowly – breathing in all the possibilities! Here is some ‘food for thought’ (no pun intended!):

You want to make more money than ever before – your bank account overfloweth
So you only work 4 days per week and have lots of time with family and friends
You close the office door at 5:00 p.m. every day and are able to create boundaries (easily!)
You take off several weeks per year (for fun, relaxation, ‘volunteer’ vacations”)
You have passive and leveraged income – so money comes in, each and every day
You work less, while making more – allowing you much more freedom when it comes to living your best life
You love to learn – and are now able to attend live events – and meet new people
You serve the world in such a BIGGER way – making money AND making a difference!
You sleep peacefully at night, you’re more fun to live with, your health is great!
The behavior you choose creates the life you are living – and the business you have.

Question #3: Why haven’t you been successful to date? (I want you to really get to the heart of the matter here – and only YOU can answer this question. Be brutally honest.)

List your top 3 EXCUSES right here:

1. ________________________
2. ________________________
3. ________________________

Conclusion:

There are so many similarities in life – whether we are talking about our desire to lose weight, improve health or succeed at business. It all comes down to the big ‘why’!

Bob Green is right when he says: Why not take that ‘pain’ and turn it into ‘power’? Right now – today!
