LED Light Bulb: The Future in House Lighting
On the advent of digital world almost all of the household electronic devices and appliances are being upgraded to be more energy-efficient and longer-lasting than what are found on most household today. From telephone and television signals to various remote-controlled appliances, advancement to digital technology had been fast-paced during recent years. Recently, Sharp releases a new LED light bulb that can perfectly fit in most standard light socket and that can be digitally controlled for some exclusive functions. Sharp is calling this their DL-L08A1900A model.
The remote control packs a number of features that include seven modes of light-dimming control, temperature control and color-switch functions. This also powers up easily that little to no warm time is expected. Unlike the conventional dimmer control for ordinary light bulbs, the remote control does this function digitally; no other wires or control switches are needed to be installed on the light socket or panel. The remote just needed to be at least in a 3 meter range of the LED light bulb to execute these new features, and the bulb itself gives a 120o beam angle of light. The light color switching and brightness adjustment may be close to real-time if the remote and the LED light bulb are in optimal working range and allow for one to change the ambience from 2650-5400K, and dimming down to 10 percent light output.
Beside these new and exciting features for house lighting, the company also boasts of its increase lifespan of 40,000 hours that comes with a three year warranty. An excellent energy consumption reduction of about 80% when compared with the 40W incandescent bulb, also goes with this new 7.8 W LED light bulb. This is backed by the company’s engineering testing and other analysis.
It is now currently available commercially, with a drawback in terms of cost. While ordinary light bulbs may only cost a couple of dollars this had been projected to cost more than $30, similar LED light bulb excluding the remote control functions available in the market costs relatively the same.
While many big companies continually strive to develop low-cost digital lighting, its energy-efficiency rating and increased-lifespan should be considered for its long run return of investment to revert from turning back in using incandescent bulbs. The future of house lighting in this LED light bulb brings longer life and and produce higher lumen per watt. Seeing more LED options in the markets and prices continuing to drop gives us more of a glimpse of how our bright future will one day be powered by.
