The Concept of Smart Holidays - IT Education Tourism

Changes in the global labor market, rapid development of the IT sector and the habits of people have converged into ‘IT Arbitrage’, a company offering IT Education Tourism to India.

IT Education Tourism is an invitation to professionals and amateurs, students and companies, groups and individuals worldwide to benefit from price differences in the cost of IT education and certification programs around the world. IT Education Tourism requires a participant to travel to a foreign country and to enrol in a short term IT certification course in the country visited. This enables the participant to immerse in the culture of the country visited while at the same time obtaining high quality IT education.

The rapid development of the IT sector has continued and will continue, inspite of the recession. The IDC Economic Study, 2009 expected the world-wide IT spend to increase from $1.4 trillion in 2009 to $1.7 trillion in 2013 and the IT related employment to increase from 35.6 million in 2009 to 41.4 million in 2013. This rapid rise is not inconceivable since technology companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Google keep growing and are among the highest valued companies in the world as of today.

Significant indicators for the need for quality IT Education are shown by studies world-over. The employment and salaries in the IT sector are growing, but there is still a lack of qualified professionals for those jobs. For example, one of countries in EU – Latvia – with the population of just 2 million people has a short-fall of around 3500 IT professionals. However, prices for IT training and certification in several countries are prohibitively high.

The habits of people world-over towards tourism has not changed dramatically inspite of the global slowdown. However, there is no doubt, that working professionals around the world would look for ways in which to reduce their spending and increase their savings. IT Education Tourism offers the concept of ‘smart holidays’ - a solution to acquire the necessary skills to be a part of the IT sector, at almost 50% of the cost of which it might have cost the individual in their home country.

The Managing Director of the company – Cyrus Dadachanji – has extensively travelled across Europe and CIS, working, networking and researching the market. Cyrus was previously working for one of the world’s largest IT education companies. After seeing an opportunity of revolutionising the concept of IT Education Tourism and the ‘arbitrage’ owing to the large price differentials existing in the cost of IT education world-over, Cyrus set out to start-up his company in this niche segment.

There are several reasons why India has been chosen to be the preferred country for ‘IT Arbitrage’ IT Education Tourism: the robust Indian IT sector, magnificent tourist destination and good quality IT education. More information about the ‘IT Arbitrage’ programme is available on the website.
