Creating Promotional Resources for Affiliates

If you use sites like Clickbank or ShareASale, you are probably familiar with the "affiliates" link found near the bottom of most product pages. Some will take you to a signup page or a opt-in form, but not all of them offer promotional tools for their affiliates once they sign up.

I personally prefer sites that offer these tools, as it gives you something to associate with the branding and makes it easier to start creating content around each new product.

The most common forms of affiliate resources I've found on product pages are graphical banners, articles to submit to directories, email swipes and lists of keywords to target for PPC campaigns.

I recently set out to create a few resources for my affiliates who signed up to promote my Green PLR package on JVZoo. I created three separate pages, one for each resource. They are as follows:

Free re-brandable PDF mini-guide on going green (with giveaway rights and full PLR)

A presentation slideshow that can be embedded anywhere with simple copy/paste code

A single-page PDF advertisement (shown below) with clickable buy now button with a list of all article titles included in the package.

As for the tools I used to create these resources...

I used Google Docs to create the presentation slides. I bought some stock images that matched my "going green" theme and experimented with placement and text until I figured out what I liked best.

I ended up listing two of the article titles on each slide, with a related image to go with it. I also decided to make a slide to list the bonus materials that come with this particular package.

The final slide is a checklist of the benefits/features and is meant to increase buyer's confidence.

I used OpenOffice to create the PDF mini-report. I copied and pasted all the text into a new document and then inserted a page break before the first section and made a cover page with my name, copyright info, title and picture. When I was done formatting all the text, I exported the document as a PDF.

I used PowerPoint to create the clickable PDF advertisement, which can easily be uploaded to document sharing sites like Slideshare. Google Docs would work just as easily to achieve this. Just use whichever you prefer.
