BABY ABUELITA’S SINGING HISPANIC GRANDPARENT DOLLS DEBUT IN NEWEST STATE OF FLORIDA MATH TEXTBOOK

Baby Abuelita Productions “BIG IDEA” Helps Teach Math To Florida’s 3RD Graders In Innovative GO MATH! Curriculum Featuring The First Educational Series To Receive The Coveted “Green Edition” Certification.

Miami, FL – March 18, 2010 – Baby Abuelita Productions, a South Florida-based manufacturer of Spanish language lullaby singing dolls and animated DVD’s that preserve the Hispanic heritage, was selected by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to have their loveable dolls teach a unit called “The Big Idea 1”. The math curriculum was uniquely designed for Florida students and features a unit on Toy Inventors.

The grandparent dolls have been a hit in the U.S. and Latin American markets since their launch in South Florida 5 years ago. The positive response from customers both young and old alike, along with support from the nation’s largest retailers caught the attention of writers of the Go Math! Textbook series.

“Our commitment to the educational value of our dolls, books and animated DVD episodes has been there from day one, and we are excited that Houghton Mifflin Harcourt chose Baby Abuelita as a model for creating innovative products that could inspire Florida’s students to learn creative applications of mathematics, said Hilda Argilagos Jimenez, a Miami-Dade County Public Schools teacher and President of Baby Abuelita. “With the expansion of our content and characters into the Go Math! textbooks, we continue to carry out Baby Abuelita’s mission to develop learning while preserving the Hispanic cultural heritage.”

Go Math! will be released nationally and in Florida in 2010 and is the first textbook series made from one-hundred-percent recycled material. “To be included as part of a cutting edge curriculum that incorporates environmentally responsible manufacturing and distribution processes is a wonderful way for us to demonstrate our commitment to education and to preserving of our environment”, said Carol Fenster, CEO of Baby Abuelita (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVdsHp8D_jM)
