During that job, she interviewed numerous coaches, athletes, and fans about sports, putting complicated games into simple words. Her books have been endorsed by actress/singer Jessica Simpson, the Home Shopping Network, the athletic departments of Penn State University, the University of Nebraska, Appalachian State University, and Willamette University, and pro football teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The books are a hit with beginners as well as those with a sophisticated knowledge of sports.
Her basketball, baseball, and football titles have been named Best Books for College Students by StudentAdvisor.com, a "Washington Post" Co. She also claimed the Best Books for Teen Boys Award from the New Hampshire Library Media Association.

The winner of nineteen national awards for writing excellence, she lives in northern Virginia, with her family.
