3 Easy Ways to Simplify Your Marketing Efforts
Many entrepreneurs reach out to me for help because they have hit a wall and finally got sick of their perpetual state of overwhelm.
Have you ever found yourself trying to figure out which way is up? Or perhaps you've been completely confused about what steps to take to grow your business?
Remember that success in business (and marketing) follow a very simple method. Identify a problem and then offer a solution.
Your ideal prospects have problems (or a compelling desire) and your business provides the solutions to those problem (or helps them create their desired result).
So that you can re-focus your efforts on this simple formula, let's address the problems that are holding you back:
1. Problem - You're trying to do WAY too much! Solution - Revisit your ideal client profile. If you have narrowed the focus of your marketing efforts to one particular type of client, with whom you do your BEST work, you'll know exactly what 2-3 action steps to take consistently to grow your business. This ideal client is the person who will get the BEST results with your product or service in the least amount of time with the least amount of effort. When you laser focus on who is this individual is, what problems they are looking to solve and where they go looking for the solutions you offer, you'll know where you should spend your time and energy marketing to them. It could be email marketing, networking, speaking - the options are endless!
2. Problem - You're not sure what products and services to offer that your clients will be eager to buy. Solution - Think back again to your ideal client profile. What are the specific problems that individual wants to solve right now? What solutions are they looking for? That is exactly what you offer to them! Package your expertise, tools, and resources into a real or virtual box and hand it to them! Don't offer your clients everything but the kitchen sink! Even if you have a wealth of experience to share with them, if you shower them with it all at once you'll overwhelm and confuse them.
Focus on a few specific solutions for starters. Get them engaged and then you can always upsell to another product or service later.
3. Problem - Despite your best intentions, you can't seem to stay on top of your marketing consistently and you know you're missing out on opportunities to generate revenue. Solution - Stop leaving your marketing to chance! I also used to struggle with staying on top of my various marketing projects. I had bitten off more than I could chew and found myself not doing a great job at any of the tasks I had in front of me. That is exactly what promoted me to create Smart Simple Marketing in the first place and scale back what I was trying to do. The other shift I made was to start scheduling time on my calendar EACH week to work on growing my business in a systematic way. Treating that appointment as important as meeting with my best, highest paying client, completely transformed my business and helped to increase our revenue.
Commit to setting aside time on your calendar EACH week, ideally early in the week and first thing in the morning, and you'll find you get better results, with less effort and... gasp! You'll actually begin to enjoy it!
